Once Upon a Time in the Battlefield Hwangsanbeol (Korean Movie w/ eng-sub)





Hwangsanbeol 황산벌 Hwangsanbeol (황산벌) is a 2003 Korean "historical comedy" about the 7th century battle of the same name between the kingdoms of Baekje and Silla. The culturally rich kingdom of Baekje is making its last stand at Hwangsanbeol. Only 5,000 strong, they are vastly outnumbered by the army of Silla. Can they stop the inevitable, that is, being overrun and absorbed by the rival kingdom? Baekje is led by its Hector, the noble general Gyebaek; Silla, by Kim Yu Shin, who will eventually unite the entire Korean peninsula for the first time in history. Directed by Yi Jun-ik Starring Park Joong-hoon (as Kye Baek), Jeong Jin-yeong (as Kim Yu Shin). Fans of Green Fish (1997) and The King and the Clown (2005) will surely recognize Jeon Jin-yeong in the role of Kim Yu Shin.
