From the same team behind last year’s crowded Chinese New Year treat “72 Tenants Of Prosperity”, comes yet another laugh riot blockbuster, “I Love Hong Kong” starring an impossible number of Hong Kong’s top pop stars and television personalities!
Touted as one of the most anticipated Chinese New Year movies of the Rabbit Year 2011, “I Love Hong Kong” is just as funny as the previous year’s adventure. This time around, there is a dip in star power but the movie is satisfying nonetheless.
Instead of making another ‘mo lei tau’ comedy, “I Love Hong Kong” deals with the lives of ordinary Hong Kong citizens in the government-leased low cost flats that are very canonical during the early years of the city. Expect a thing or two about life and what it really means to be living within a tightly-knit large community.
In a star-studded movie like this, the audience will get to see many familiar faces that have gone missing from the silver screen for quite some time now, for example Stanley Fung, who used to act alongside Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan in the 1980′s action-comedy movie series, “Lucky Star”.
“I Love Hong Kong” gets an extra boost from its main theme song sung by one of Hong Kong’s talented singers – Aarif Lee and Mag Lam, who also made special appearances throughout the movie.
