Sitting comfortably in the chair, a nervous young man is waiting for his first donation session at the Daniel Freeman Hospital Blood Donor Centre. Before long, a nurse enters the room to find a suitable vein, when quite unexpectedly, she straps the donor firmly to the chair, making sure he cannot move a muscle during the five minutes of his blood donation. But why does it feel that this is far from the normal procedure? Pretty soon, this will be the least of the man's worries.
